VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED

Are you looking for an opportunity to give something back to your community?

The Orkney Carers Centre is looking for voluntary trustees to join its management committee. The management committee guides and shapes the work of the centre, which supports unpaid carers and young carers all over the Orkney Islands.

Unpaid carers and young carers number 1 in 8 of the population. The centre supports carers and young carers through providing a listening ear, working with partners to identify hidden carers and ensure their voice is heard, offering information, advice, advocacy, a Carers support group, training, and much more. We also run a Crossroads respite for Carers scheme.

Trustees work for the centre on average 4 hours a month – donating either their professional skills or their experiences of unpaid care. They will also be expected to help at any fund raising events.
